The wood-burning fireplace in the large living room makes it a welcoming place to gather in cold weather, while the rocking chairs on the large side porch and the deck and backyard off the kitchen provide an inviting place to read or eat. First floor has an eat-in kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, gas stove), 2 TV rooms, half bath, living room, and dining room. Second floor has a small master bedroom with queen size bed and full bath ensuite; corner front bedroom with king-size bed and views of Mt. Tom; another corner bedroom with river view and queen-size bed; and a second full bath off the hall. The top floor has one large room with two twin beds and built-in drawers; a half bath; and a smaller room with a twin trundle bed. Original details include wood floors and 12-over-12 windows. Laundry in basement. Wide driveway accommodates 4+ cars.

  • Explore the Village of Woodstock, with shopping and dining options for all tastes, a central green with seasonal events, and one of the prettiest little covered bridges in the state.

  • Visit nearby Sugarbush Farm, open all year, to sample their cheeses (the 5+ year aged cheddars are AMAZING) and maple syrup, tour their maple sugar facility, and meet their farm animals (goats, sheep, chickens, calves, horses, rabbits).

  • Visit nearby Quechee to hike through the Gorge and state park, sample cheeses at the Cabot Creamery (do you sense a theme here?),or dine at Simon Pearce restaurant and view their live glass-blowing studio.

  • Visit the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences, which features for their environmental education, research, and avian rehabilitation. Open year-round, the 47-acre campus features state-of-the-art raptor enclosures, exhibit spaces, classrooms, and interpretive nature trails. 

  • Take a trip to the old-time General Store and swim, fish, skate, or picnic across the street at Silver Lake State Park in the neighboring town of Barnard.
